Scott Marshall - Owner

Scott established the business in January 2013 alongside his Fiancee Becca. He has 20 years sales, management and business experience. This experience along with a love for mushrooms and food, acquired a few years ago has seen the business develop from a dream, to where it is today, in only 12 months.

He has built and developed the Shroom Room which creates the optimum micro climate needed for wild shiitake growth. Using a combination of this, and growing techniques used for 1000’s of years, he is now supplying Devons top chefs with premium gourmet mushrooms.

With plans for two more shroom rooms to be built in the near future, and exciting relationships building with other Devon growers, he is aiming to develop the farm. This will allow all customers to see for themselves these beautiful mushrooms in full bloom.

Becca Bond - Sales Manager

Becca has over 15 years’ experience in hospitality, sales and customer service and has won countless awards throughout her career.

Becca has been instrumental in the building and development of the shop which has been stocked and fitted to her high standards. She has sourced and developed trade relationships with some of Devons’ finest producers allowing us to stock 100’s of local and award winning lines.

She is currently developing our restaurant client profile, which is already boasting Michelin starred chefs and award winning restaurants, throughout Devon. We are extremely proud to have Becca heading up the sales and customer service of The Farm Shop and Forest Fungi trade sales.

Jen Gardner - Head Mycologist.

As well as 10 years customer service experience Jen also has a BSc in Environmental Biology with subjects including ecology, agriculture and mycology.

Jen has always had an interest in wildlife and farming, she attended an agricultural college at age 16 and has over six years practical conservation management experience.

In recent years she has become very interested in fresh food production, whole foods and nutrition for health. From an eco-warrior point of view, she feels it is very important to consume food produced as locally, and green (not literally), as possible.

Jen is looking forward to the challenge posed by mushroom growing - the ever-changing variables caused by the British climate in search of the perfect conditions and, therefore, shrooms. She says 'I have an awful lot to learn, there are a lot of mushrooms in the world! However, I love learning and this is a great excuse to get geeky about these fascinating organisms'.
We are very fortunate to have Jen with us. She is quickly developing in her role and will be instrumental in the success of Shroom Rooms 2 & 3.
